A continuous work with improvements concerning quality and
environment is a natural part of the everyday work here at CANDOR.
To ensure an ongoing effort we have an integrated management system
with routines and instructions of how to handle these issues.
Certification
Quality has always been more or less of a guiding star for
industries, naturally also for us here at CANDOR. We actively strive
to provide the best possible quality of products and services for
our clients, and since 1994 we are certified according to ISO 9001.
As environmental issues have come to play a greater role in our
society, they have naturally also come to rise in importance and
priority for industries, and CANDOR is no exception. Our
environmental work includes everyone within the organisation, from
root to top, and since 1999 we are certified according to ISO 14001.

Our management system is updated continuously depending on needs and
possible changes. The system also contains our policies, and to
obtain continuous improvements we set up goals and programmes for
questions of current interest.

Environment
Here at CANDOR we work actively to minimize our impact on the
environment, and we regularly check and evaluate our activities.
Operational controls are performed according to a control programme.
The results from these controls are then reported to the authorities.
We also work with projects to decrease our discharges and waste
amounts. For instance we were able to decrease our discharges by
app. 50% through improvements of our water treatment facility.
However, our discharges are not very large and from that point of
view our environmental impact is rather low.
Our largest impact on the environment is indirect, through the sale
and release of potentially environmentally hazardous products to the
market. For this reason a very important part of our work is to
provide our clients with sufficient information about the products
in order for proper handling. To decrease this part of our
environmental impact we also work continuously with projects to
replace hazardous products with less harmful ones, all according to
the substitution principle. The substitute products need to be less
hazardous to health and environment but without compromising the
quality.
